Summary Explanation/Background

On April 28, 2026, the Board directed the County Attorney’s Office to draft appropriate amendments to the Administrative Code in light of the 2026 Session of the Florida Legislature. The proposed Resolution amends applicable provisions of Chapter 12 of the Administrative Code, regarding certain Broward County advisory boards, to comply with those legislative changes, as well as general housekeeping updates.

The proposed Resolution restates Section 12.3 of the Administrative Code to update the provisions governing the Tourist Development Council’s Marketing Advisory Committee (“MAC”), including provisions regarding its composition and general wordsmithing changes.

The proposed Resolution amends Section 12.24 regarding the membership of the Climate Change Task Force to replace a membership category with a broader reference to an entrepreneurship or small business organization or interest group.

The proposed Resolution also amends Section 12.153 regarding the composition of the Homeless Continuum of Care Board to revise two membership categories to be consistent with current legal terms and standards.
