Summary Explanation/Background

THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE HOUSING AND URBAN PLANNING DIVISION, AND THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY (LPA) RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The proposed amendments to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan’s Climate Change, Recreation and Open Space and Transportation Elements remove references to initiatives that support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

On January 14, 2026, the LPA recommended the Board find proposed Amendment 25-T3 consistent with the Broward County Comprehensive Plan and transmit the amendment to the designated state review agencies.
