AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN TEXT OF THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN REGARDING THE COMMUNITY AND REGIONAL PARKS AND IMPLEMENTATION REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Why Action is Necessary
Pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended, Broward County Comprehensive Plan amendments shall be adopted by Ordinance by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body.

The Ordinance adopts Broward County Land Use Plan text amendment PCT 24-1 in accordance with Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

Summary Explanation/Background
The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed text amendment, PCT 24-1, at its April 25, 2024, public hearing and recommended approval, including not requiring a second Planning Council public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 13-0; Castillo, Gomez, Greenberg, Hardin, Harrison, Horland, Newbold, Railey, Rosenof, Ryan, Werthman, Zeman and DiGiorgio):
AMENDMENT PCT 24-1
Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan text regarding the “Implementation Requirements and Procedures” Section to enhance and streamline the Community and Regional Parks and Implementation Regulations and Procedures subsections.
