Summary Explanation/Background
Section 125.0104(4)(e), Florida Statutes, authorizes the establishment of a Tourist Development Council. Chapter 2009-259, Laws of Florida, expanded the membership of the Broward County Tourist Development Council and outlined criteria for future appointments to the Council.
The Broward County Code of Ordinances and the Broward County Administrative Code contained duplicative provisions for the Broward County Tourist Development Council. The proposed amendment provides that the Broward County Tourist Development Council membership and terms of office are set forth in Section 31½-8 of the Broward County Code of Ordinances.
The County Attorney’s Office has coordinated with the County Administrator to ensure that notice of this proposed Administrative Code amendment was published five (5) days prior to this public hearing.
