Summary Explanation/Background
THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY AND BRIDGE MAINTENANCE DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTIONS.
On February 12, 2020, the Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division requested a threshold increase for open-end Contract No. PNC2117217B1. This increase is necessary to perform emergency work to replace a portion of collapsed seawall along Old Griffin Road, south of Griffin Road in the City of Dania Beach. County Staff have temporarily secured the area to keep the roadway open to vehicular traffic until the seawall is replaced. Work must be completed immediately to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians and to prevent any further deterioration to the wall and roadway. The threshold increase will cover the needs of this emergency work (Exhibit 1).
