Summary Explanation/Background
The year-end holidays are traditionally times for family and friends to gather, making them one of the busiest travel times of the year. The proposed Resolution would provide County employees an additional half-day of “personal day” time for each of Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, subject to operational needs. The leave could be used only as a half day of personal leave on December 24 and on December 31, except that employees who are required to work on one or both of those dates to maintain operational coverage may, with supervisory approval, use the credited hours on another workday during that same Fiscal Year.
