MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution accepting a donation in the amount of $10,000 from FAT Village Venture, LLC, to be used by the Cultural Division to install public art in the Flagler Village neighborhood, located in downtown Fort Lauderdale; and authorize the County Administrator to take all necessary administrative and budgetary actions required to implement acceptance and utilization of the donation.

B. MOTION TO ADOPT budget Resolution within the Public Art and Design Trust Fund in the amount of $10,000 for Fiscal Year 2025 to recognize and appropriate the donation.

Why Action is Necessary
Section 18.63 of the Broward County Administrative Code states that donations to the County of $10,000 or more shall be accepted by resolution of the Board of County Commissioners (“Commission”). Commission approval is necessary to appropriate the donation.
What Action Accomplishes
Adoption of Motions A and B authorizes the Cultural Division to accept a donation in the amount of $10,000 and allocate the funding.

THE CULTURAL DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This item supports the Commission’s goals of “cultivating community culture, arts, recreation and life-long learning”.
Fat Village Venture, LLC desires to donate the amount of $10,000 to the Broward County Cultural Division. If approved, the donation will be used to commission and install public art in the Flagler Village.
