Why Action is Necessary

Pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended, the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body, shall transmit to designated State agencies proposed amendments to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan for review.

 

What Action Accomplishes

This action adopts a Resolution to transmit to designated State review agencies Broward County Land Use Plan amendment PCNRM 24-3, pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

Summary Explanation/Background

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed amendment, PCNRM 24-3, at its May 22, 2025, public hearing and recommended approval, recognizing the on-site 1.29-acre conservation easement, including not requiring a second Planning Council public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 11-0: Abramson, Castillo, Geller, Gomez, Greenberg, Hardin, Horland, Newbold, Ryan, Zeman and DiGiorgio):

 

AMENDMENT PCNRM 24-3

Amendment to the Natural Resource Map Series of the Broward County Land Use Plan

 

Amendment to remove approximately 3.5 acres of the existing 21-acre Site 97 / Map Labels 136 from the Environmentally Sensitive Lands Map; generally located east of Northeast 7 Avenue, south of Eller Drive, in the City of Dania Beach.
