THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The Office of Economic and Small Business Development did not reserve this project for Small Business Enterprises under the Sheltered Market Program or assign County Business Enterprise participation goals to this solicitation based on the review of products and services requested.

On October 4, 2019, the Director of Purchasing, through the clean low bid process, awarded Contract No. BLD2118238B1 for FEMA Compliant - Water Extraction and Mold Remediation Services to two vendors, United Restoration of FL, LLC (Primary Vendor) and Decon Environmental and Engineering, Inc. (Secondary Vendor), in the annual estimated amount of $980,892, which includes allowances in the annual estimated amount of $90,000, with four one-year renewal options, for a total five-year potential estimated amount of $4,904,460.

Due to COVID-19 and in compliance with the requirements of the Center for Disease Control, Amendment No. 1, which adds Anti-Microbial Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) Fogging services to Contract No. BLD2118238B1_1, was executed since these services are essential to maintaining the health, safety, and general welfare of Broward County employees and the general public in the Broward County facilities (Exhibit 1).
