Summary Explanation/Background

The proposed Resolution authorizes the Public Works and Environmental Services Department (“PWESD”) Director to approve (i) enumerated costs associated with tree planting projects in an amount not to exceed $5,000 (“Cost Reimbursement Requests”); and (ii) PWESD projects in an amount not to exceed $20,000 (“Department Requests”). Amounts exceeding those thresholds shall require Board approval. The proposed Resolution specifically exempts both Cost Reimbursement Requests and Department Requests from consideration by the Tree Preservation Trust Fund Committee (“Committee”).

The proposed Ordinance further amends the amount that the Committee is authorized to disburse from $15,000 to $20,000. Amounts exceeding this threshold shall require Board approval.
