The action authorizes the County to enter into an agreement with RTBC, in a not-to-exceed total agreement amount of $25,000 for services related to the BMSD Block Rebuild Program and other Minor Home Assessment and Repairs Program during MLK Day of Service for homes located within the Broward Municipal Services District (BMSD).

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE BUILDING CODE DIVISION RECOMMEND THE ABOVE MOTION.
This item supports the Board Goal of “ensuring residents have an affordable place to live by offering sustainable, compatible, innovative, accessible, affordable housing options for all income levels, including integrated, permanent supportive housing and zoning that helps residents build equity.”
Rebuilding Together Broward County, Inc. (RTBC) has partnered with Broward County to perform Minor Home Assessments and Repairs within the BMSD over the past five years. The proposed Agreement allows RTBC to perform a “Block Rebuild” to be conducted during MLK Day of Service that will involve minor repairs to a collection of homes all on the same block within the BMSD. The County wishes to repeat this program in 2026. Any remaining funds shall be applied to other homes within the BMSD later in the year.
