Summary Explanation/Background

THE OFFICE OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

 

Cocomar Water Control District serves the City of Coconut Creek and a portion of the City of Margate as shown in Exhibit 1. The three-person Water Control District Advisory Board reviews information developed by County staff and makes recommendations to the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as needed, for the appropriate operation of the district.

 

Paul D. Young’s term on the Cocomar Water Control District Advisory Board is scheduled to expire on April 24, 2026. Mr. Young has agreed to continue serving on the Advisory Board. It is recommended that he be reappointed pursuant to Broward County Code of Ordinances Chapter 36-14(b).

 

This item allows the Board to meet as the governing body of the Cocomar Water Control District to approve the referenced appointment to the Water Control District Advisory Board.
