Why Action is Necessary

Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances (Broward County Land Development Code) requires changes to previously approved or recorded plats to be approved by the Board of County Commissioners.

 

What Action Accomplishes

Approves a non-vehicular access line amendment adjacent to the plat, subject to staff recommendation and conditions ensuring compliance with the standards and requirements of the Broward County Land Development Code.

Summary Explanation/Background

THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE HOUSING AND URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION, subject to staff recommendations and conditions.

 

This plat is located on 19.42 acres on the east and west side of State Road A1A/Ocean Drive, between Seacrest Parkway and Magnolia Terrace, in the City of Hollywood. The applicant is requesting to amend the existing NVAL as delineated along the west side of highway A1A adjacent to Parcel C and D of the plat, modifying and adding the following openings:

 

                     A 50-foot opening with centerline located approximately 42 feet north of the south plat limits. This opening is restricted to right turns only.

                     A 70-foot opening with centerline located approximately 239 feet north of the south plat limits. This opening is restricted to right turns only.

                     An 80-foot opening with centerline located approximately 910 feet north of the south plat limits. This opening is restricted to right turns only.

                     A 66-foot opening with centerline located approximately 362 feet north of the south plat limits. This opening shall be labeled full access.

                     A 23-foot opening with centerline located approximately 489 feet north of the south plat limits. This opening is restricted to and shall be labeled right turns out only.

                     A 120-foot opening with centerline located approximately 722 feet north of the south plat limits. This opening shall be labeled full access.

                     A new 23-foot opening with centerline located approximately 645 feet north of the south plat limits. This opening is restricted to and shall be labeled right turn in only.

 

This request accompanies a proposed plat note amendment application.
