THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
Stirling Road is a County road in the Town of Davie. The Town of Davie desires to improve Broward County right-of-way along Stirling Road from Southwest 160 Avenue to Southwest 148 Avenue.
This item seeks Board approval of an Agreement (“Agreement”) between Broward County (“County”) and the Town of Davie for the design, installation and maintenance of landscape improvements within the median and along the south side of Stirling Road from Southwest 160 Avenue to Southwest 148 Avenue (Exhibit 1). Exhibit 2 is a location map of the landscape improvements.
The landscape improvements shall incorporate a minimum 50% native species by plant types and shall follow the Broward County NatureScape program and Florida-Friendly Landscaping principles. The Town of Davie will be responsible for all costs associated with the design, installation, and continued operation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of the landscape improvements, including electrical energy and other utility charges. The County can terminate this Agreement with or without cause. If this Agreement is terminated, the Town of Davie must restore the right-of-way to its condition before the installation of the landscape improvements or to such condition as approved in writing by the Contract Administrator.
