Summary Explanation/Background

THE RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The Urban Planning Division has received a request to vacate, annul, and abandon a 15-foot-wide right-of-way lying within the Florida Fruit Lands Company’s Subdivision No. 1 plat, as recorded in Plat Book 2, Page 17, of the Official Records of Miami-Dade County, and generally located on the north side of Oakland Park Boulevard, east of the Sawgrass Expressway, in the City of Sunrise, Florida. Vacating this right-of-way will provide clear and unencumbered title to the property owner.

The City of Sunrise adopted Resolution No. 25-4 on January 15, 2025, granting approval of this vacation. Review of this application by the applicable reviewing agencies indicates that there is no objection to the vacation of the subject right-of-way.

This vacation application has been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney, (Exhibit 1). This vacation application has been publicly noticed ten days prior to the hearing date and will be noticed ten days after the hearing date, in a newspaper of general circulation in Broward County, pursuant to Section 125.66, F.S. and Section 336.10, F.S., as applicable.
