Summary Explanation/Background
THE PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION, THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT, AND THE REAL PROPERTY AND REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
To improve resiliency during hurricanes and other severe weather events, as well as enhance day-to-day service reliability, Florida Power & Light Company (“FPL”) is implementing its lateral hardening initiative, also known as the Storm Secure Underground Program. Through this program, overhead neighborhood electrical lines are being converted to underground neighborhood lines. The electric lines servicing Tree Tops Park (the “Park”), located at 3900 SW 100 Avenue, in the Town of Davie, Florida, are being converted to underground lines through this program initiative.
To complete the conversion to underground lines, FPL is requesting a perpetual, non-exclusive underground easement from the County to install and maintain the necessary equipment servicing the Park.
The Easement form has been reviewed and approved as to legal sufficiency by the Office of the County Attorney.
