Board approval is required to adopt resolutions to amend Broward County Administrative Code.

This action amends the Department’s fee structure to bring it closer to recovery of operational costs.

At its meeting on February 11, 2025 (Agenda Item No. 11), the Board directed the County Administrator to publish notice of this public hearing.

 

Summary Explanation/Background

THE RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

 

This item furthers the County Commission goal of “[c]onsistently delivering responsive, efficient, inclusive, and equitable quality services to the public and internal customers while providing a safe community to live, work and visit.”

 

The Resilient Environment Department (RED) and its numerous Divisions provide a variety of services to persons in Broward County. Based on RED’s fee study, concluded on November 4, 2024, it is necessary to update the fees in the Broward County Administrative Code to be consistent with the current cost of providing those services.
