Pursuant to Section 163.3184(11), Florida Statutes, as amended, Broward County Comprehensive Plan amendments shall be adopted by Ordinance by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body.

The Ordinance adopts Broward County Land Use Plan Small Scale map amendment PC 21-6, in accordance with Section 163.3187(1), Florida Statutes, as amended.

Summary Explanation/Background

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed small scale amendment, PC 21-6, at its June 24, 2021 public hearing and recommended approval, including not requiring a second Planning Council public hearing, recognizing the applicant’s voluntary commitments to restrict 15% of the proposed dwelling units as moderate-income affordable housing units (up to 120% of median income) for a minimum of 30 years and submit notice to the FAA prior to the issuance of residential building permits and provide written notification of the proximity to the Pompano Beach Airpark in any leases or deeds for residential units built on the property (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 16-0; Blackwelder, Breslau, Brunson, Castillo, Gomez, Good, Grosso, Hardin, Maxey, Parness, Rich, Romaner, Rosenof, Ryan, Williams and DiGiorgio)

From Commerce to Irregular (29.5) Residential

Approximately 12.1 acres; generally located on the south side of Copans Road, between Federal Highway/U.S. 1 and Northeast 12 Terrace.
