Why Action is Necessary

A. Section 18.63 of the Administrative Code states that donations to the County of $10,000 or more shall be accepted by Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners. Board approval is necessary to appropriate revenue.

Summary Explanation/Background

THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE ANIMAL CARE AND ADOPTION DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTIONS

 

The Animal Care and Adoption Division has received a generous donation from the Petco Foundation in the amount of $20,000. These funds will be used to augment lifesaving programs.

 

Inherent in the motion is authorization for the County Administrator to take all administrative and budgetary actions required to complete the donation. The Resolution is approved as to form by the County Attorney’s Office.
