Summary Explanation/Background
If adopted, the Resolution would amend Section 40.51 of the Broward County Administrative Code, which pertains to fees charged by the County’s Child Care Licensing and Enforcement Section (CCLE).
The fees charged by CCLE automatically adjust each year for inflation. At CCLE’s recommendation, the proposed Resolution updates the fees to the new annual rates with two exceptions: the proposed Resolution removes the annual inflation adjustment for late fees and license modification fees. In addition, it adds a new $15 late application fee for family child care homes.
An Ordinance substantially updating the County’s child care licensing regulations is also scheduled to be considered by the Board at the public hearing of December 12, 2023.
