Summary Explanation/Background

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/REAL PROPERTY AND REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT DIVISION AND RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT/HOUSING FINANCE DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

 

Fortune Related Construction, LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“Developer”), on behalf of Florida Power & Light Company (“FPL”), requested the assistance of the Real Property and Real Estate Development Division to facilitate the grant of a perpetual, non-exclusive underground easement to FPL on County-owned property located at 600 N Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311 (“Easement”) for the purpose of connecting permanent power to a new building being constructed on the property. The Easement is attached as Exhibit 1.

 

The Easement will allow FPL to install transformers and utility services to supply the building with permanent electrical power. Additionally, FPL will install permanent house and unit meters after confirming with the City of Fort Lauderdale that all electrical systems comply with local and state codes.

 

The Easement has been reviewed and approved for legal sufficiency by the Office of the County Attorney.
