MOTION TO ENACT Ordinance amending the Broward County Comprehensive Plan to adopt Broward County Land Use Plan map amendment PC 26-1, located in the City of Lauderhill (Commission District 9), pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended, the title of which is as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN OF THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WITHIN THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended, Broward County Comprehensive Plan amendments shall be adopted by Ordinance by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body.

The Ordinance adopts Broward County Land Use Plan map amendment PC 26-1 in accordance with Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

Summary Explanation/Background
The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed amendment, PC 26-1, at its December 4, 2025, public hearing and recommended approval, subject to the applicant’s voluntary commitment to dedicate approximately ten acres of park and open space, and including not requiring a second Planning Council public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 11-0; Abramson, Fernandez, Fisher, Geller, Greenberg, Hardin, Levy, Newbold, Rosenof, Ryan and DiGiorgio):

Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan - City of Lauderhill
From Commercial Recreation within a Dashed-Line Area to Irregular (9) Residential within a Dashed-Line Area
Approximately 132.6 acres; generally located between Oakland Park Boulevard and Northwest 44 Street and between Inverrary Boulevard West and Rock Island Road.
