Special Olympics Florida, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides sports training and athletic competition opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and enjoy the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
Community Enhancement Collaboration, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to mitigating the lack of essential human services for at-risk populations in the City of Hollywood and its neighboring communities through services such as a food pantry and various social service initiatives.
These organizations need financial assistance to continue to carry out their respective missions. District 7’s office has $28,366 in remaining Fiscal Year 2024 budgeted funds that it would like to use to support these organizations in the following amounts: $23,366 for Special Olympics Florida, Inc.; and $5,000 for Community Enhancement Collaboration, Inc. This item, if approved, will permit these District 7 funds to be donated to further the missions of these organizations.
