MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of Public Hearing to be held on October 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 422 of Governmental Center East to consider adoption of a proposed Resolution Amending the Broward County Administrative Code, the title of which is as follows:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, PERTAINING TO THE NORTH PERRY AIRPORT COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE; AMENDING SECTIONS 12.35, 12.36, 12.37, 12.38, AND 12.40 OF THE BROWARD COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE (“ADMINISTRATIVE CODE”); REINSTATING THE NORTH PERRY AIRPORT COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

The Broward County Charter requires the posting of notice and a public hearing for adoption of amendments to the Broward County Administrative Code.

Enables the setting of a public hearing during which the Board of County Commissioners (“Board”) may consider adopting the proposed Resolution Amending the Broward County Administrative Code.

Summary Explanation/Background
The North Perry Airport Community Advisory Committee (“Committee”) was originally formed to make recommendations to the Broward County Aviation Department (“BCAD”) about community interests and topics concerning the North Perry Airport (“Airport”) including, but not limited to, the development, improvement, maintenance, operation, and safety of the Airport, and the Airport’s compatibility with the surrounding communities.
The Committee automatically sunset on December 31, 2024. The Board approved sunset recommendations on June 10, 2025 (Item No. 23), which noted the potential reinstatement of this Committee.
The proposed Committee, as reinstated, would consist of ten members, all of whom shall be appointed by the Board. Three members, one from each of the cities of Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, and Miramar, would be nominated by the Commissioner whose district includes the Airport. The remaining members would be stakeholders as further identified in the Resolution.
All members would serve in accordance with Section 1-233 of the Broward County Code of Ordinances. The Committee would meet at least quarterly.
