Summary Explanation/Background

Various facilities, including the Research, Development and Training Center (“RDTC”), are owned or leased by Broward County, but operated and utilized by BSO. The County has sought access to some of these facilities, including the RDTC, but such access has been denied. This item, if approved, would direct the County Attorney’s Office (“CAO”) to take all appropriate legal action required to enable the County to access and inspect these facilities. This item, if approved, further authorizes the CAO to take any other required legal action, including without limitation the filing of an appropriate lawsuit, against BSO to enforce the County’s rights.
