A. MOTION TO ADOPT budget Resolution within the Beach Erosion Capital Outlay Fund transferring $10,000,000 from the Beach Hotspot Project to the Port Everglades IMP Implementation Project for the purpose of funding increased construction costs.
B. MOTION TO AWARD fixed contract to single bidder, Continental Heavy Civil Corp, for Port Everglades Sand Bypass Project North Jetty Improvements, Bid No. PNC2130772C1, for the Public Works and Environmental Services Department, in the amount of $31,712,322 for base bid, including a total allowance of $10,000, and authorize execution of the Agreement.

Why Action is Necessary
MOTION A: Increasing the total budget of a capital project by more than 5% requires approval of the Board of County Commissioners.
MOTION B: In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.47, Award and Execution Authority, Board approval is required for awards with a value of more than $500,000, inclusive of the value of any renewals or extensions provided for in the contract, that includes a single bidder.
What Action Accomplishes
MOTION A: Transfers $10,000,000 from the Beach Hotspot Project to the Port Everglades IMP Implementation project to fund the revised construction costs.
MOTION B: Provides for the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, services, and incidentals for the Port Everglades Sand Bypass Project North Jetty Improvements.
