Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with review requirements under Section IX of the Agreement for the Broward Futures Endowment ("Agreement") among Broward County, The Sheriff's Office of Broward County, Broward College Foundation, Inc., and The District Board of Trustees of Broward College, Florida (collectively referred to as the "Parties"), the Parties must review the Broward Futures Endowment Program outcomes and make recommendations to revise, continue, or terminate the Agreement.

What Action Accomplishes
Provides the Broward Futures Endowment Program annual report on student success outcome measures to the Broward County Board of County Commissioners ("Commission").

Summary Explanation/Background
THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

This action supports the Commission's value of "building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives" and the goal of "delivering accessible human services that holistically address the whole person collaboratively and compassionately." Approval provides for compliance with the Agreement's review requirements and continues the scholarship program for at-risk students.

On September 11, 2012 (Item No. 15), the Commission approved a new Agreement between Broward County and the Parties to provide scholarships for at-risk students to attend Broward College. The Agreement requires Broward College to provide reports outlining awards, disbursements, data relating to student outcomes and success within the program, as well as a financial report. I...
