Summary Explanation/Background
THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE ACCOUNTING DIVISION, AND THE OFFICE OF REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The Office of Regional Communications and Technology (ORCAT) requests authorization for six employees to travel to Orlando, Florida from April 19 - 22, 2026, to attend the Motorola Solutions Summit 2026 Conference (Exhibit 1).

The Summit is Motorola Solutions' largest annual user conference for Public Safety Professionals. This conference includes workshops and panel discussions related to a variety of pertinent subjects, such as Industry and Leadership, Software and Services (cybersecurity, CJIS, CAD, GIS & mapping, emergency call management), critical communications, video security, and more.

ORCAT employees will participate in the conference to learn, as well as network with industry peers, leaders and subject matter experts. Many will also attend hands-on labs and other training courses. Additionally, registration includes the option to book a virtual certification course to be taken after the Summit, which can maximize the exposure to onsite learning.
