Summary Explanation/Background
THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE ACCOUNTING DIVISION, AND THE RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The Broward County Resilient Environment Department requests authorization for Dr. Jennifer Jurado, Deputy Director of the Resilient Environment Department, to travel to London, United Kingdom (UK). Dr. Jurado will be attending the Resilient Cities Forum from December 5 - 11, 2025 (Exhibit 1). Mayor Beam Furr is also attending this conference.
This Forum will include a gathering of 300 global stakeholders with a focus on driving exponential progress in the next phase of effective urban resilience. Participants will include Chief Resilience Officers, City Leaders, solution providers, investors, and innovators to explore the next decade of urban resilience, and will examine how local governments can scale proven solutions, learn from each other, and integrate cutting-edge innovations to strengthen resilience at the local and systemic levels.
