Summary Explanation/Background

Certain provisions of the Code merely codify Special Acts that have been enacted by the Florida Legislature over the years. Local codification of these legislative enactments is not always required and may lead to conflict if the Florida Legislature subsequently amends the applicable act. This agenda item, if approved, would direct the County Attorney’s Office to review the Code to determine which, if any, of the local codifications of Special Acts should be amended or repealed, and to prepare appropriate Ordinances for future consideration by the Board.
