MOTION TO RATIFY action taken by the County Administrator on December 29, 2023, on behalf of Broward County and through delegation granted by the Board of County Commissioners on December 12, 2023, to approve and execute an agreement between Broward County and Magnum Construction Management, LLC d/b/a MCM, for Terminal 1 Checked Baggage Resolution Area Room Improvements at the Broward County Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Bid No. PNC2122436C1, for the Broward County Aviation Department, in the amount of $29,090,576, including allowances of $4,327,463.

Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with Broward County Procurement Code Section 21.47(a), Award and Execution Authority, the Board shall make all awards and authorize the execution of the associated contracts with a value of more than $500,000, inclusive of the value of any renewals or extensions provided for in the contract.
In accordance with Section 332.0075(3)(b), Florida Statutes, a governing body must approve, award, or ratify all contracts executed by or on behalf of a commercial service large hub airport in excess of $1,500,000 as a separate line item on the agenda and must provide a reasonable opportunity for public comment. Such contracts may not be approved, awarded, or ratified as part of a consent agenda.
What Action Accomplishes
Ratifies the contract for the provision of all the labor, materials, equipment, services, and incidentals necessary to perform the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Checked Baggage Resolution Area Room Improvements project.
