A. MOTION TO APPROVE Amendment 001 to Reimbursable Agreement MOA-2023-046 between the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (“NOAA”), National Ocean Service Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services, and Broward County, Florida, for the Installation, Management, Operation, Maintenance, and Repair of NOAA’s Port Everglades Physical Oceanographic Real-Time System (“PEPORTS®”), effective on execution by both parties, to incorporate funding for the equipment, installation, operation, and maintenance of a horizontally mounted current meter in the Intracoastal Waterway (“ICW”), increasing the total cost by $151,800, from $619,400 to $771,200.
B. MOTION TO ADOPT budget Resolution in the Port Everglades Operating Fund to transfer funds from reserve in the amount of $133,000 to cover the additional Period 4 cost share of this agreement with NOAA.

Why Action is Necessary
Broward County Board of County Commissioners (“Board”) approval is required for the execution of the reimbursable agreement and transfers from reserve require board approval.
What Action Accomplishes
Execution of Amendment 001 provides additional funding to expand the “PEPORTS®” network to incorporate an additional horizontally-mounted current meter in the ICW at the Southport Turning Notch and updates the funding terms for the remainder of the agreement ending April 30, 2028 and provides additional one-time funding for an increase in the cost share per this amendment.
