Under the County Code of Ethics, Section 1-19(c)(5), Broward County Code of Ordinances (the “Code”), a Commissioner may not utilize County staff and in-kind resources other than a Commissioner’s own district staff in connection with charitable solicitations without approval by the Commission.
If approved, this item would enable the use of County staff (beyond Mayor Bogen’s own district staff) and in-kind resources, excluding any affirmative expenditure of County funds, to support a food donation program through Winn-Dixie grocery stores to help Broward County residents experiencing food insecurity.
