Summary Explanation/Background

This proposed Ordinance exempts those entities providing charter bus transportation from the Port Everglades (“Port”) business permit requirements. Federal law regulates charter buses and imposes limitations on the degree to which local authorities may regulate those buses. This proposed Ordinance modifies charter bus regulations at the Port to help ensure the safety of the public and the protection of Port property within the limits of applicable law.
