Summary Explanation/Background

In 1980 Broward County created the Broward County Community Redevelopment Agency (“CRA”). The CRA has been inactive for more than a decade. On February 24, 2024, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity formally declared the CRA to be inactive. This proposed Ordinance, if enacted, would repeal Sections 1-292 through 1 298 pertaining to the CRA, as required by applicable Florida law following the formal finding by the State that the CRA is inactive.
