Why Action is Necessary

Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances (“Land Development Code”) requires changes to previously approved or recorded plats to be approved by the Board of County Commissioners.

Approves a plat note amendment subject to staff recommendations and conditions ensuring compliance with the standards and requirements of the Land Development Code.

Summary Explanation/Background

THE RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION, subject to staff recommendations and conditions which will ensure compliance with the standards and requirements of Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances.

 

This plat is located on 4.86 acres on the north side of Taft Street, between North 30 Road and North 31 Road, in the City of Hollywood. This Plat is restricted to 124 High Rise Units and Persons 62 years of age and older with a total family income of eighty percent (80%) or less of the median income for Broward County, according to the current standard metropolitan statistics of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. The applicant is requesting to amend the note on the face of the plat to add 20,500 square feet of educational use, and 10,500 square feet of commercial use.
