Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with Broward County Procurement Code Section 21.47(a), amendments to agreements that exceed the Director of Purchasing's authority must be approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
What Action Accomplishes
Authorizes additional consultant services for construction administration and post-construction services and updates terms and conditions of the Agreement.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The Office of Economic and Small Business Development ("OESBD") established a County Business Enterprise ("CBE") participation goal of 25% for this Agreement. Saltz Michelson Architects, Inc. ("SMA") has committed to a 57% CBE participation, which has been reviewed and approved by OESBD. To date, SMA has achieved a 54.71% participation rate during the design and bidding and award phases. Saltz Michelson Architects, Inc. has committed to continue utilizing the CBE team members.
On May 19, 2020 (Item No. 29), the Board of County Commissioners approved the Agreement between Broward County and SMA for Consultant Services for Design Services for Tradewinds Park North (the "Agreement").
