Summary Explanation/Background

Pursuant to a recent amendment to the Florida Constitution, a newly elected Tax Collector took office earlier this year. As a result, Broward County has transferred the duties of tax collector from the Finance and Administrative Services Department (“FASD”) to the elected Tax Collector. This Resolution, if adopted, would amend the Broward County Administrative Code to remove provisions designating County staff to carry out duties of the tax collector. The proposed Resolution also includes minor housekeeping revisions.
