A. MOTION TO REAFFIRM AND MODIFY sole source standardization of Johnson Controls, Inc., now known as Johnson Controls Building Solutions, LLC, for Fire Alarm and Security Management System Maintenance of proprietary equipment and systems at currently covered Broward County buildings and to include all present and future Broward County buildings that have such equipment and systems installed.
B. MOTION TO APPROVE Third Amendment to the Agreement between Broward County and Johnson Controls Building Solutions, LLC, f/k/a Johnson Controls, Inc., for Fire Alarm and Security Management System Maintenance (BLD2123500A1_2, f/k/a BLD2123500A1_1), extending the term of the Agreement effective October 1, 2026, for an additional three years, with the option to further extend the term for up to two additional one-year renewal periods through September 30, 2031, and increasing the not-to-exceed amount, including optional services, by $14,373,117 for a new total not-to-exceed amount of $27,188,667.

Why Action is Necessary
A. In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.19(a), the Board is required to approve all standardizations above the award authority of the Director of Purchasing.
B. Pursuant to Section 21.53(a) of the Procurement Code, unless otherwise provided by law or excepted therein, a County contract shall not exceed five (5) years in duration, inclusive of any renewals or extensions provided for in the contract, without the express approval of the Board.
