THE BROWARD COUNTY CULTURAL DIVISION AND THE BROWARD COUNTY CULTURAL COUNCIL RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This item supports the Board's Healthy Community Goal of cultivating community culture, arts, recreation, and life-long learning.
This action approves the artist and their artwork design at the new Broward County Convention Center Plaza and will result in an expenditure of not more than $980,000 for the design development, fabrication, and installation of the artwork ($900,000 for art and $80,000 for contingency).
Pursuant to Section 33.43(e)(1) of the Broward County Administrative Code, the artist was selected through the direct selection method and considered from a pool of five artists. The artist was approved by the Public Art and Design Committee on November 12, 2025, and the Broward Cultural Council on November 13, 2026, resulting in the proposed artwork design.
