MOTION TO DIRECT County Attorney's Office to draft agreements with the two Section 501(c)(3) charitable organizations listed below, in the amounts indicated, for an estimated total donated amount of $3,000 in projected excess office account funds for County Commission District 9 ("District 9") for Fiscal Year 2025, to fund the specific activities identified below; and to authorize the County Administrator to execute the agreements and to take all necessary administrative and budgetary actions to implement same. District 9's office projects an excess in budgeted office funds for Fiscal Year 2025 ("FY25"), which it would like to use to provide funding for the secular programs (open to all, regardless of religion) of the following two Section 501(c)(3) charitable organizations in the amounts indicated:
$1,500 for the Faith Center, a Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit church in Broward County that provides community support programs, including food assistance. The donated funds will be restricted to support its food pantry program.
$1,500 for The New Life Fellowship Center, a Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit church in Broward County that provides community support programs, including youth services and food assistance.
