Summary Explanation/Background
THE PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

US Crane, LLC, while operating on property owned by 2980 W. State Road, LLC, cleared and placed fill within 0.17 acres of an established wetland mitigation area located within Pond Apple Slough Natural Area, which is owned and managed by Broward County. The impacts were discovered on October 28, 2025, during an annual inspection conducted jointly with staff from both South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and Broward County Parks and Recreation (BCPRD).

The impacted wetland mitigation area was established pursuant to Environmental Resource Permit No. 06-07122-P, under which Broward County and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) are joint permittees. The mitigation was funded and constructed by FDOT and responsibility for the mitigation was transferred to BCPRD in 2022.
