Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY (LPA), AND THE HOUSING AND URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

An amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan is proposed to adopt a new Deepwater Port Component as part of the Coastal Management Element that is consistent with the 2024 Port Everglades Master/Vision Plan (PEMVP; See Exhibit 4-Goals, Objectives, and Policies and Exhibit 5-Support Document). Transportation Element Policies T4.2.7 and 4.2.8 are also being amended to replace references to the 2019 PEMVP with references to the 2024 PEMVP (See Exhibit 2 - Staff Report).

On November 13, 2025, the Board adopted the 2024 PEMVP (Item No. 9).
