Summary Explanation/Background

Bus fares and paratransit fares are established by the Broward County Administrative Code. To facilitate voter turnout for the 2024 General Election, the proposed Resolution, if adopted, would waive bus fares and paratransit fares on the last Saturday and Sunday of early voting for the November 5, 2024, General Election and on General Election day.

This item results from a request that only recently arose and therefore was submitted after the deadline for supplemental items; due to the ongoing early voting schedule and the upcoming November 5 election, the item cannot be deferred to the next Board meeting.
