A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A DONATION OF TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($25,000) FROM SIEBERT WILLIAMS SHANK & CO., LLC, TO BE UTILIZED FOR THE PURPOSE OF ASSISTING ORGANIZATIONS IN BROWARD COUNTY AFFECTED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC; AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR TO TAKE ALL ADMINISTRATIVE AND BUDGETARY ACTIONS REQUIRED TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Summary Explanation/Background
Siebert Williams Shank & Co., LLC, has generously offered to donate $25,000 to support the County’s efforts to assist certain organizations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This Resolution allows the Board of County Commissioners to accept this generous donation.
This agenda item was presented originally at the November 10, 2020 Commission Meeting. The Board asked that the $25,000 donation from Siebert Cisneros Shank & Co. LLC be donated to a charity of their choice with the greatest need.
The funds will be allocated evenly to each County Commissioner to be used to support nonprofit public charitable organizations designated by the County Commissioner. The Board, on a future agenda, will approve the allocation proposed by each County Commissioner.
