Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/WATER AND WASTEWATER SERVICES RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

Broward County provides retail water and wastewater services to approximately 58,000 customer accounts throughout the County's Water and Wastewater Services service area. The recommended Fiscal Year 2026 operating and capital program budgets for the Water and Wastewater Fund include increases in water and wastewater retail rates effective for services rendered on or after October 1, 2025. The recommended rates increases are necessary to fund operating costs, debt service costs, and cash-financed capital. These rates reflect an overall increase in water revenue of 6.12% and sewer revenue of 6.20%, for a cumulative overall revenue increase of 6.16%.
