PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION AND HIGHWAY AND BRIDGE MAINTENANCE DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

Cypress Creek Road (NW 62nd Street) from Powerline Road (NW 9th Avenue) to the South Florida Rail Corridor is an eight-lane County Road within the City of Fort Lauderdale. In a collaborative effort among Broward County, the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Florida Department of Transportation, and the City of Fort Lauderdale, this road segment will be reconstructed under a project to enhance bicycle and pedestrian safety.

To meet the project's funding requirements, all portions of the road being reconstructed must be within the right-of-way and vested to the County. However, within the project limits along the south side of Cypress Creek Road east of the intersection with Powerline Road, there is an irregularly shaped portion of the road, including sidewalk, curbing, gutter, and other road appurtenances, measuring approximately 390 feet b...
