Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE HOUSING AND URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The proposed Resolution (Exhibit 1) approves acceptance of a Sovereignty Submerged Lands Easement ("Easement") from the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund of the State of Florida ("TIITF"), commencing on May 10, 2021, on a portion of real property located at the northeast intersection of the Stranahan River and the Atlantic Ocean in the City of Fort Lauderdale (see Exhibit 3, Location Map). The Easement (Exhibit 2) is required for the construction and maintenance of a sediment impoundment basin.
