THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE BUILDING CODE DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The item directs the County Attorney's Office to review and draft one or more Ordinances amending Chapters 9 and 39 of the Code to provide for general housekeeping amendments and substantive updates to provisions administered by the Building Code Division. The proposed amendments include adding definitions for the Central Vacuum, Gasfitter, and Burglar Alarm contractor license categories in Chapter 9 to complete the list of definitions for existing contractor license categories, and revising Chapter 39 to update requirements for holiday wayside stands, including requiring a Certificate of Use, and to amend the minimum landscaping requirements for single-family and duplex dwellings concerning synthetic turf by requiring compliance with Rule 62-308.100, Florida Administrative Code.
