MOTION TO AUTHORIZE County Administrator to negotiate and execute a Third Amendment to Agreement No. 24-CP-HCS-7660-01 between Broward County and Center for Hearing & Communication, Inc., for adult mental health services, to add and exercise a third one-year option period in an amount up to $200,000, effective October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, with authority subject to review and approval by the County Attorney’s Office; and authorize the County Administrator to take all necessary administrative and budgetary actions to implement the Agreement as amended.

Broward County Board of County Commissioners (“Commission”) approval is required for agreements with external agencies.
What Action Accomplishes
Approval of the Motion will add a one-year option period to the Agreement to ensure services are not interrupted.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This action supports the Commission’s value of “building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives” and the goal of “delivering accessible human services that holistically address the whole person collaboratively and compassionately.” The Third Amendment adds an additional one-year option period to the Agreement and aligns the Agreement’s term end date with the term end date for all other Community Partnerships Division Adult Mental Health Services agreements.
